EARTH HARMONY™

Earth Harmony™ - Integrating Environmental Sciences, Natural History and the Arts.

The Earth Harmony™ program is specifically designed to reintroduce the natural world
to our children in a fun, scientific and culturally meaningful way;
to encourage curiosity and promote integrated learning.

2008 Earth Harmony™

In-school workshops for K-6th grade - a wide variety of curriculum is available; we tailor to suit your school's needs.

Summer School Program 2008 - June 23 thru July 18 with the Larkspur Park and Rec.
Session I and II - each two week session is different!

WPN also offers adult and teacher training workshops in many of our popular subjects.


Sample Earth Harmony™ Projects

• Animal tracking and how to plaster cast a track in the field.

• The geology of gold prospecting...and how to pan for gold.

• How are tornados made? Experiments with a tornado / vortex generator.

 

• Learning techniques for twisting grasses and fibers into strong rope.

• Pond and wetlands life – who lives there and why is it important?

• Archaeology / Paleontology - basics of science, history and dig methodology.

Each day will bring something new while exploring the natural world!

 

Elena Belsky, WPN Director, is a longtime environmental educator and artist; she has been teaching children and adults in a wide variety of subjects for over 27 years. Workshops have included: the Point Reyes National Seashore, Marin Museum of the American Indian, The Discovery Museum, Marin Conservation Corps, International Archeological Conference, and throughout Marin elementary schools. We are in our 6th year of providing Earth Harmony™ classes for the Larkspur Park and Recreation / Ross Valley Summer School.
